Pick up Your Guitar...
I just wanted to bear my soul with you for this writing...I watched a movie tonight on Netflix called "I still believe," which is the story of Jeremy Camp and his first wife. Apparently, it's been out for several years, but I see on Facebook a advertisement for the movie. So, I felt impressed in my heart to watch it.
I don't want to give the whole movie away if you haven't seen it, but it is a tearjerker. It is a very touching movie. In one scene after the death of his wife, Jeremy got very upset and crashed and broke his guitar. He found a letter that his late wife had put inside the guitar. Wow, it was a very powerful scene, at the end of his note was written, "Pick up your guitar." Jeremy could have made a 180 turn toward the dark side in that moment. He could have gone off the deep end and backslid and got all entangled into sin and all that entails...But he did not do that. He got his dad's guitar which was nearby and started playing the guitar, just like nothing had happened. I was crying at the point...a gut-wrenching weep came from the depths of my soul.
I wonder how many of us have broken and crushed our "guitars" and walked away from it all. Jeremy did not do that, instead he kept on walking the walk with Jesus. What a testimony that is for all of us. Let me explain what I am saying
Now I know what some of you are thinking that you don't have a guitar and some might. But at this stage I believe you know what I am saying. You have dropped your calling for whatever reason and stopped doing what you are supposed to do.
For me it is my writing. It is the way I express my heart for GOD. I have dropped it time after time and picked it up again and again because of this and that. Your purpose is your destiny, whether it is writing or guitar or preaching or teaching or singing. This has put a whole new perspective and respect for Jeremy Camp's music I must say. God has taken the veil away. He kept on doing it in the midst of all his grieving and great loss.
God has a purpose and plan for each one of us. It doesn't matter who you are or what you have done.
Romans 11:29 states that God gifts and His call are irrevocable! what does that mean? The word irrevocable definition is simply "not able to be changed or reversed or recovered; final."
I want to encourage you right now to keep on doing what GOD has CALLED you to do. He is not going to reverse his call on your life, but you can run from your calling and not use the gifts he has given you.
It doesnt matter what that you dont have a big ministry, it doesnt matter tht you didnt make the worship team or even that you have fallen. God has given us as Christians the strength and ability to get back up on our feet and continue or the journey and road He has put your on!!!
2 Corinthians 4:8-10 states that "We are hard pressed on every side but not crushed; perplexed but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned, struck down but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
Things happen. Life happens we are crushed and pressed at all times. We all have a decision and choice every day to rise above our bad circumstances.
Pick up your guitar.
Find this movie and rent it or watch it if you have not seen it.
It could be a game changer for you.
I hope and pray that this blog is the same for you. I hope it not only makes you think but makes you take action. If you do your part in repenting and submitting your life to GOD first, then He will help you and give you the strength to make it the rest of the way!
May God bless you and hold you close to His heart.
